The Hin Lat Waterfall Koh Samui is a serene and breathtaking natural wonder that should be on every traveler’s itinerary. The waterfall is best visited during the rainy season, when the water is at its fullest and most dramatic.

Visitors will find the journey to the top of the waterfall takes approximately 20-30 minutes, depending on their level of fitness. The jungle surroundings offer a fabulous opportunity for taking pictures, and the view from the top is truly breathtaking.
At the base of the waterfall, visitors will find two cool and inviting freshwater pools where they can take a refreshing swim. The waterfall area is also a great place for a family picnic or a relaxing hike through the jungle trails. The trails offer an opportunity to connect with nature and experience the real Koh Samui, away from the tourist hotspots and busy beaches.
The Hin Lat Waterfall is located in Lipa Noi, just 10 minutes from Nathon Town. It is set between Nathon and Thong Yang beaches, in the tropical lush mountain range in the south of the island. To reach the waterfall, simply follow the 4172 road, where the waterfall is signposted. The surrounding area is dotted with colorful flowers and coconut plantations, and the dense jungle stretches for 3km in every direction. Visitors can reach the waterfall by scooter or car, with parking available at the base. A small restaurant is also located at the base, providing visitors with a place to refresh themselves after their hike.
The Wat Namtok Hin Lat Temple is located on the left of Hin Lad Waterfall and is a popular destination among the local community. People come here to meditate and offer prayers to the resident monks. The temple offers meditation classes and workshops to help individuals seeking spiritual guidance. Along the paths, there are signs displaying wisdom in Thai and English for visitors to learn from. You can also visit the small bridge and feed the fish, with food available for purchase at the shop on the grounds. There is also a unique Buddha statue nestled within a large rock formation. The temple grounds feature peaceful nature walks and a tranquil garden, perfect for meditating and relaxing.
