Central Samui is a modern shopping mall located in the heart of Chaweng, a popular tourist destination on the tropical island of Koh Samui. The mall offers a wide variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options for visitors and locals alike.
One of the main attractions at Central Samui is the small outdoor market just out the front of the mall. This small market has about 30-40 stores, sometimes more, sometimes less depending on which sellers are setting up. The small stores sell all sorts from food to cannabis to those popular baggy travellers pants covered in elephants that so many Thailand travellers seem to love wearing. There is also live music on some afternoons, the market is a nice place to go get a bite to eat or meet up with a friend before going shopping in the mall. Or to cut through the mall to get to Chaweng’s main drag – Chaweng Beach Road which is where all the action takes place. Read more about Chawengs busy nightlife.
Next is the food court attatched to the mall which is a more modern take on the typical Thai food court that you see in most shopping malls through out Thailand. It still uses the same system where you can’t pay with cash, you have to deposit money onto a card to spend on your desired food then take the card back to get whatever money is left over on the card. The food court offers a vareity of cuisine such as Thai, Indian, American and more. It’s a good place to sit down and get a cheap meal.
Next to the food court is a large supermarket where visitors can buy all their groceries and other necessities although it is much cheaper to get your groceries from a local Thai grocery stall or market.
In the Central Samui mall it’s self there is a variety of international and local fashion brands available at the mall. Visitors can find everything from high-end designer labels to more affordable streetwear at the mall’s many clothing stores.
In addition to fashion, Central Samui also offers a wide range of other shopping options, including electronics like Big Camera for all you vloggers out there, beauty products, and home goods.
For those looking for a place to do some slightly more “fine dining” than what the food court offers, Central Samui has a number of restaurants and cafes offering a variety of cuisines. Whether you’re in the mood for Thai, Italian, or Japanese food, the mall should have something to suit your preffered taste.
Last but not least is that Central Samui has several banks including the major Thai banks for any travellers (or Thais) banking needs such as setting up a Thai bank account or depositing/withdrawing cash.
The mall has a stylish design with a large center open air section running the length of the mall with two floors to either side which is where the shops, restaurants and banks are located.
Overall, Central Samui is a great destination for anyone looking for a convenient and enjoyable shopping experience on Koh Samui. With its wide variety of shops, restaurants, and entertainment options, the mall is sure to have what you need during your stay in Chaweng, Koh Samui.
